Dieburg Campus

Campus Dieburg Gebäude

Workspaces for the professionals of tomorrow

Studying at the Media Campus is, above all, about developing new ideas. The laboratories and studios provide the ideal facilities for this.

Ambitious projects require top-class equipment

Spanning forty thousand square metres, the Media Campus provides space for lectures and seminars, as well as numerous well-equipped and specialised studios, laboratories, editorial offices and study rooms. This is where the teaching projects central to the study programmes are carried out. Teamwork is a top priority, and thanks to the CampusCard, all have flexible access to the laboratories and equipment they need.

Laboratories, studios and project rooms

As one of the few university campuses, the Media Campus covers a broad spectrum in teaching and research – from media conception to implementation, for example in the form of videos, films, radio plays, radio programmes, interactive projects, editorial products, marketing campaigns or digital learning projects. The range of study programmes on offer is matched by the number of specialist laboratories and studios: The Media Campus, for example, has dedicated laboratories for the production of animations and 3D films, several sound and recording studios, a broadcast-ready television studio and a Uselab for testing websites. The equipment meets professional standards throughout.

Media Labs

The media rooms enable the production, editing and presentation of multimedia content using state-of-the-art technology.

3D-Lab

3D Lab

The 3D Lab focuses on virtual and room-scale projected 3D interfaces in which users can move around freely and interact.

Uselab

Uselab

The Uselab provides methods and equipment for learning user-centred design in interactive applications, products and games.

physicallab

Physical Interaction Lab

Here, students explore touch- and gesture-controlled interfaces and bring their ideas to life.

TV Studio

TV Studio

Whether for the student magazine ‘Zeitraum TV’ or for green-screen filming, the TV studio offers plenty of space and professional equipment.

Videoschnitt

Video editing suite

Using modern, professional editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut and After Effects, we work on short and feature-length films here.

Audio Studios

The audio studios offer professional facilities for sound recording, audio editing and creative audio projects.

Radiostudio

Radio studio

Radio programmes, vocal recordings, voice-overs and radio plays can be produced here at any time under professional conditions using the recording booth.

Schalltoter Raum

Anechoic Chamber

This anechoic chamber enables almost pure measurements of the directional behaviour of acoustic signals and allows the resulting effects to be utilised artistically. Recordings produced here deliver full 3D sound (HRTF) when listened to through headphones.

Soundlabor

Surround Studio

In the Surround Studio, we produce our own 5.1 mixes for use in music, film, animation and other media. The permanently installed monitoring system allows for a realistic assessment of the mix.

Mischpult

Mixing desk

Recordings are carried out in the adjacent sound recording studio via the Lawo mixing console in the recording studio control room. The console is also available for post-production work.

Recording Studio

Recording Studio

The Sound Recording Studio is the largest audio recording studio on campus. It is used for music and voice recordings. The room can accommodate up to five artists and offers space for experimental sound installations.
