RadBar in Dieburg

Media Faculty News

Students in the Architecture study programme have installed the first ‘RadBar’ on the Dieburg Campus: a covered parking area with a charging facility for cargo bikes and e-bikes. Photovoltaic panels on the roof provide electricity. Following the first RadBar on the Schöfferstraße campus in Darmstadt being recognised at the 2024 German Solar Prize as an “exceptional, innovative concept in the field of renewable energy”, the Dieburg Campus has now also been equipped with its own charging station. According to the Solar Prize jury, the RadBar offers a “flexible infrastructure to promote the use of bicycles and e-bikes in the city whilst contributing to environmentally friendly mobility.”

The Dieburg Radbar will go into operation at the start of the winter semester 2025 and can be used by all students.
