In light of the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, effective warning communication is becoming crucially important for protecting human lives and minimising damage. The EU-funded research network AlertHub is therefore dedicated to further developing warning communication and governance structures in the context of climate-related crises.
The project is developing comparative analyses of national warning systems, identifying best practices and creating new formats for knowledge exchange between academia and practitioners. In this way, AlertHub strengthens the ability of various stakeholders to design (warning) communication on extreme weather events in an evidence-based and coordinated manner.
During the presentation, initial findings from ongoing research will be presented, along with an outlook on the conceptual development of an open-access knowledge platform designed to serve as a new knowledge resource for both research and practice.
