Digital Landscapes – Digital Soundscapes.
Digital Landscapes – Digital Soundscapes.
This project develops innovative fulldome films with 3D audio soundtracks that explore new narrative structures within a 360° environment, thereby going beyond traditional frontal media.

In a two-semester workshop project, students produce fulldome films which are accompanied by a 3D audio soundtrack to ensure an appropriate auditory experience. This results in films that explore the specific visual and dramaturgical approaches required in a 360° environment. Combined fulldome and 3D audio environments cannot simply adopt the concepts and dramaturgy of frontal media
but must develop them anew. The workshop’s conceptual and theoretical work focuses in particular on the perceptual and conceptual frameworks of ‘landscape’ and ‘soundscape’ (soundscape), which are based on the concept of a 360° environment (see, amongst others, R. Murray Schafer, Derrick de Kerckhove and Gene Youngblood).
The resulting perceptual configurations are ebe meras; through the Fulldome tent and a 3D audio studio, seminar participants have the opportunity to be introduced to these innovative technologies on site. As in previous years, the productions are then to be submitted to the Jena Fulldome Festival and, where appropriate, to other public presentations.
