NFDI in Hesse
NFDI in Hesse
h_da is the only university of applied sciences in Hesse to be a co-applicant in the NFDI4Memory consortium and, at the same time, acts as co-spokesperson, thereby creating an important link between the NFDI consortium and the Hessian Research Data Infrastructure (HeFDI).

Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is currently the only university of applied sciences (HAW) in Hesse that is actively involved as a partner institution in the Hessian Research Data Infrastructure (HeFDI). As part of the NFDI consortium NFDI4Memory, it not only plays a key role as a co-applicant but also as co-spokesperson for the overall project.
Project progress
The aim of the project is to establish an interface between the NFDI4Memory consortium and HeFDI, thereby strengthening cooperation, exchange formats and technical coordination. The university is also involved in other relevant research projects funded by the BMFTR and the DFG – including:
- NFDI Text+
- Gesund FDM
- Visibility, acceptance and reusability of data management plans at universities of applied sciences
- Greetings & Kisses – Digital Letters
As part of these activities, preparations are under way to establish a regional training centre for research data management (RDM). The focus here is on methodological principles and data literacy from an information science perspective.
Objective
In the long term, the aim is to develop a modular, certifiable programme of courses in the field of research data management. It is aimed at researchers, teaching staff and students and is intended to help strengthen data-based skills at universities of applied sciences.
