How can we tell empathetic, vivid and visually striking stories that transcend the supposed boundary between humans and nature? This is the question addressed by Prof. Dr Torsten Schäfer’s research project ‘talking salmon’. The project focuses on salmon-like fish. They are found all over the world and form a link between the sea, rivers and forests. Their example can also be used to highlight aspects of intensive livestock farming. Indigenous traditions play an important role in the research project, and Schäfer will provide an initial insight into this during his lecture. The aim of the project is to develop a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course).
