Florian Meißner is the new Professor of Digital Publishing

Florian Meißner has been Professor of Digital Publishing since the winter semester of 2025 and teaches on the Online Journalism (B.Sc.) and Online Communication (B.Sc.) study programmes. In his research, Meißner focuses not only on journalism and digital media but also, in particular, on risk and crisis communication. He currently heads the EU-funded research network ‘AlertHub’on warning communication in the event of disasters and is a board member of the international Crisis and Risk Communication Research Association (ICRCA). Completed projects have addressed, amongst other things, risk communication in the context of cyber security, digital disinformation and future trends in journalism.
