Projects

Discover the secrets of the interactive Temple of the Waves!

A project by Joshua Lehmann, Leon Regula and Raphael Weihmann, 4th semester, 2021
Supervising lecturers: Owi Mahn, Michael Rieker and Prof. Thorsten Greiner

Within these ruins lies a mystical energy that longs to be set free by you. Immerse yourself in this virtual 3D audio installation and experience a spectacle of occult magic; feel how you can channel it with the help of special keys.
The player stands in the vaulted chamber of an abandoned temple, where they find four different keys. Using these, they can unlock the keyholes scattered throughout the room, thereby releasing impulses and sounds.

These impulses can in turn stimulate new keyholes, thereby filling the space with light and sound.
The keys serve as tools for influencing the sounds and how they are produced. The Earth key, for instance, acts as a low-pass filter. The Water key allows the sounds to flow between elemental and universal characteristics. The Air and Fire keys determine the intervals and energy of the sound’s creation.
